When it comes to clothes, we all want to have ideally white clothes once we get them out of the washing machine. Baby powder-white is the best shade of white color and we can all agree with this claim.

Of course, our white sheets and clothes will look much better if they have this shade.

However, the situation is usually different because after a while white clothes made from any fabric lose their properties and become grayish or even yellowish in the end.

This is definitely something that we want to avoid when we wash the white dress or shirt we like.

So, many housewives are asking themselves – is it possible to bring back the original appearance of white clothes or whiten the white laundry?

In case you consider using a commercial synthetic bleach, please cross this option from your list. This type of bleach will make your laundry look even worse. The clothes will lose their strength and turn yellow.

How to Whiten Clothes

So, how to whiten clothes? How exactly can we make our white clothes look as good as new?

The good news is that there are several completely natural mixtures that can help you with this issue and in case your grandma forgot to tell you about it, we are here to reveal the traditional natural bleacher that has helped many people with their laundry. This natural bleach has been used for centuries.

This means that you don’t need to buy costly commercial bleachers and you don’t need to rely on laundry products based on synthetic ingredients.

In many cases, old and proven mixtures can do wonders for your problems. Have you heard about the potassium permanganate combination? This is the ideal solution for whitening any type of white clothes and you can rest assured that the effects will impress you.

Using Potassium Permanganate on White Clothes

Of course, you will first have to purchase potassium pomegranate from the local store. After that, add several crystals in ten liters of plain water. It is a good idea but a pink solution. Adding larger quantities of potassium pomegranate will make things worse and you definitely need the purple color in this solution. Next, pour about 200 grams of your regular detergent into the mixture.

The whitening mixture is now prepared. Put your white laundry in the solution and make sure that it is fully soaked. Use a nylon bag to cover the solution. Leave the clothes for more than 5 hours. It would be best if you leave them during the night. Keep in mind that the mixture will not look good, but the most important thing is that it works, so don’t mind the appearance.

Once the necessary amount of time has passed, put them in the washing machine and wash them in a regular way.

Experts suggest that you can practice the same procedure in an opposite fashion – you can first wash the laundry and after that place them in the mixture. In case you choose the first option, just make sure to leave the clothes hanging. If you are not completely satisfied with the results, use the same procedure again. There is no doubt that you will like what you see in the end because your clothes will be whiter than ever.

Additional advice: We should not forget that our grandmas have used baking soda for the same purpose. This whitening product is inexpensive and easy to find.

Take your detergent and add 3 tablespoons of baking soda to it. This ingredient comes with few other benefits too – it has the ability to make the water softer and enhances the effects of any detergent. There is a huge number of women who use baking powder instead of commercial bleachers. Pour some baking powder in the compartment where you pour detergent and witness the amazing effects.

Try this at home and share your experience!
