A consumer alert! Popular kitchen appliance has been recalled because it can potentially explode while being used. When making a carbonated drink at home, you probably expect some pressure while doing the process but probably not enough to explode.
That’s why one particular company, SodaStream is recalling over 60,000 carbonating bottles in both Canada and the U.S. These bottles were sold from March 2016 to November 2016.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, these bottles can burst under pressure thus posing a serious safety issue for the consumers.
This recall includes the one-liter blue-tinted bottles, labeled as “Dishwasher Safe” and have a blue cap and blue plastic bottom. So, if you use some of these SodaStream bottles with an expiration date of 4/2020, stop using them right now.
They can burst while a consumer produces carbonating water with the SodaStream carbonation machine and this could cause a personal injury.
These machines are manufactured by an Israeli company, who claim that the problem is a manufacturing defect.
However, the company offers a refund for all those customers who are affected by this defect. The company states that the recall only affects 13 million bottles which were produced last year.
It is important to mention that none of these bottles have exploded so far, but the company wants to protect the customers from any possible injury.
