The California-based RBR Meat Company has issued a recall for the Marketside supreme pizza because of the presence of this deadly bacteria.
Walmart retail stores used to sell this particular type of pizza across America. This implies that thousands of people in America probably have these pizzas in their fridges.
According to FSIS, these pizzas were produced on Feb. 23 in 50.6-oz. boxes containing single shrink-wrapped 16-inch pizza with code 20547.
In a routine sampling, the FSIS found the presence of Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. It registered the recall as a Class 1 because of the probability that you can get sick if you eat these pizzas.
However, there are still no confirmed reports of some side effects of their consumption.
Listeriosis is a serious infection caused by the consumption of contaminated food with Listeria. This infection can be highly dangerous for older people and pregnant women.
The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention lists muscle aches, fever, diarrhea, or some other gastrointestinal problems as potential symptoms of this infection.
In case you have eaten this particular type of frozen pizza, and you have some of these symptoms, go to the hospital at the very moment. If you have it in your fridge, please do not eat it. FSIS urges consumers to throw it away or return it for a refund.
