Bunions are deformities that represent salt deposits in your body. The appearance of bunions is caused by many factors such as improper diet, bad metabolism, gout, influenza, tonsillitis, rheumatic and arthritic infections, and wearing unsuitable footwear.

Use 1 tablespoon of crushed bay leaf in 1 cup (250 ml) of water in the evening. Cook the mixture for about five minutes. Pour the liquid into a thermos and keep it there overnight.

Pour the liquid through a porous device or material in the morning, take small mouthfuls and drink it throughout the day. Don’t drink the entire mixture at once.

Do this for three consecutive days and prepare the drink before you go to bed. Once the three days are finished, take a break for seven days, and continue with the procedure. This liquid acts as a diuretic, so frequent urge for urination is not something uncommon. This is a clear sign that the salt is slowly breaking up and this process irritates the bladder which results in frequent urination.

This entire process/treatment should be finished in about 60 days and this is the time when bunions will be completely eliminated.

Crush five large bay leaves until you get very small pieces and pour about ½ cup (100 ml) of 96% alcohol over them. Let the solution like that for about one week and after that strain it.

Use this remedy on the affected area, but before you apply it, it is a good idea to soak the feet in lukewarm water. You can use 3 quarts (3 l) of water and one tablespoon of baking soda for better effects.

Let your feet dry a little bit, use the remedy on the bunions, and put on cotton socks.

You’ll be surprised to hear that standard soaps can also ease the pain and inflammation that comes from the bunions. Take a few small pieces from the soap; place them on the affected area and perform circular movements with your hand on this area. Clean the area and apply some iodine on the bunions.

You can do this easily by soaking a cotton bud in povidone-iodine and “draw” a net-like form over the problematic area. Use vertical and horizontal lines (about ½ inch apart). In this way, the iodine will be absorbed by the body in the fastest and most convenient way. Leave it for a while until it dries and put cotton socks on your feet. Perform this procedure every day in a period of one month.

You can also treat your bunions by using iodine in a combination with lemon juice in an equal ratio.
